One of the most frequently used stones in modern architecture, travertine traces its roots back thousands of years. The largest single building constructed entirely of travertine is the Colosseum in Rome. Travertine is created when underground mineral springs percolate through the stone, forming crystals. The minerals dictate the color range that will be achieved. In its many forms and colors, travertine is a remarkable building material for both residential and commercial use. |
